Patricia Rosalyn Edsell Scholarship Fund

Patricia Rosalyn Edsell (1950-2024) is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University.  She earned her degree in Social Work in 1972.

The Chattanooga, TN native then obtained a Master's degree in Social Work at the prestigious University of Chicago and finished in 1974.

As a social worker for Chiago Public Schools, she faithfully devoted more than three decades of her life to advocating, protecting, and improving the lives of thousands of inner-city school children.  She fervently believed every child deserved a personalized investment in their education and well-being.  She was talented in achieving her goal.

She was a passionate believer in the power of education and self-determination, instilling that in every child she encountered; including her own two children who also graduated from top HBCU's.

Though she transitioned July 25, 2024, her devotion to children and their development is her lasting legacy.  The thousands of children she touched throughout her decades long career is her lasting legacy.  And her unwavering faith in God and love for her family are her lasting legacy.

The Edsell-Lawrence Family is elated to establish the Patricia Rosalyn Edsell Scholarship Fund in her honor.  Thank you for your generosity in supporting Social Work students' education and their service to humanity.
