The Joe Rivers McClure Memorial Scholarship 

Joe "Rovers" McClure a distinguished figure from Pulaski, Tennessee, is known for his significant contributions to his community and his achievements in various fields.

Rivers was a mathematician, Tennessee A&I State College (now Tennessee State University) Alum, and World War II veteran.  Before desegregation, Mr. McClure was the principal of Bridgeforth High School in Pulaski Tennessee; he is a celebrated and memorized high school athletics announcer.

This scholarship celebrates the forward thinking legacy of Rivers McClure.  It is funded and established by McClure's great-nephew, Deddrick Perry Jr. (TSU class of 2003 and Grantor of the Perry Family Trust) to provide scholarships to high performing undergraduate students with a major or demonstrated interest in any of the following areas: applied mathematics, aerospace, or game theory.
