Henry Douglas and Daisy Jeffries Beard Endowment Scholarship

Henry and Daisy Beard along with their nine children grew up in the poor rural agricultural area of West TN, St. Luke and Nutbush, TN Community.  The determined parents graduated from the Dunbar-Carver High School, Brownsville, TN (1958, 1960).  Henry a school bus driver, certified electrician and mechanic; Daisy a licensed cosmetologist and aesthetician, are proud parents to an accomplished group of children and grandchildren, many of whom have made significant contributions in their respective fields.

They encouraged their children to dream big, work hard, and pursue higher education. Their legacy built on love, persistence, discipline, and dedication; inspired their children to have faith in God, and love for family and community. Henry and Daisy Beard proved that great ambition and dedication can change the trajectory of generations
